No, an active internet connection is not required for live broadcasting with Flamingo™ .

Full battery charge time is 2.5-3 hours. Average working time with camera & light together is ~4 hours. Average working time with camera OR light only is ~8 hours.

The light source within the Flamingo™  unit delivers an illuminance of 60,000 lx and a color temperature of 5750 °K.

No. Flamingo™  camera does not have a built-in microphone.

Our cameras are manufactured in-house, as are all Admetec products. Admetec is the only company that manufactures loupes, lights, and cameras.

Flamingo™  uses .mkv internally, but when the video is exported, it’s converted to .mp4 which is recognized by Macs, PCs and phones.

The files (videos and bookmarks) are stored on the local computer in the user profile and can be accessed through the Flamingo App™ . For use outside of the Flamingo App™ , please use the Export function.

The pedal inside the Flamingo™  kit is paired with the camera in the same kit. You will need to perform pairing only of the pedal or the Flamingo control unit is replaced.

 Yes. All WiFi dongles shipped after May 1st 2024 can be used with Windows or Mac. Dongles shipped earlier need to be updated in order to work with Windows. To update your WiFi dongle, please follow these steps:
  1. Update the Flamingo app on your Mac to the latest version (minimal supported version is 5.61)
  2.  Connect the WiFi dongle to your Mac and use it connect to a Flamingo Camera
That’s it. Your WiFi dongle can now be used with Windows.
  • Please make sure you have the latest software version. There have been improvements in power consumption and heat generation.
  • Avoid putting the Flamingo control unit inside a pocket. Use the belt clip to place the control unit on a belt, trousers or hang it on a pocket.

MacOS has a security feature that prompts the user to allow a new USB device to connect. Sometimes, MacOS enters a state in which the message pops up for a split second and disappears, not allowing the user to respond. Try one of the options below:

  • Restart the Mac
  • Go to Settings, Privacy & Security, scroll down, find “Allow accessories to connect” and select “Allways”. Reconnect the Wi-Fi adapter.
  • Make sure the Flamingo Wi-Fi adapter is connected to the computer, the blue led is on and not flashing.
  • Press the Camera button once more 
  • Restart your computer
